Quote of the Week

”When you have a healthy relationship with yourself, you’re less likely tolerate people who consistently treat you in unhealthy ways.”

Happy Wednesday! This Wednesday I wanted to share a quote of the week!

Do you have a healthy relationship with yourself?

The most important relationship we will ever have is with ourselves. We are the ones that wake up with us every morning. We know our secrets, dreams, demons, and fears. If we don’t respect ourselves, how do we expect others to respect us? If don’t love ourselves, we will begin to tolerate others treating us in unhealthy ways.

Loving ourselves can be challenging and uncomfortable, especially if we are someone who struggles with our self-esteem or self-worth.

HOW TO PRACTICE SELF-LOVE?!

One way to practice self love is by challenging our negative thoughts. We all have an inner voice. Psychologist like to call this inner-dialogue as “self talk.” Negative thoughts are common. “I am not good enough.” “I will never get that job.” “ I know it won’t work out.” “I fail at everything.”

Negative thoughts can often keep us trapped in a cycle of self-hatred. My favorite way to change negative thoughts is through sticky notes.

You can use STICKY NOTES by placing them in visible places such as on your mirror, next to you bed, or even in your car! The note doesn’t have to be a whole lengthy positive phrase. It can be a cue to motivate you to challenge your negative thoughts!

This is a simple way to help you challenge your inner voice!

If we begin to speak kindly to ourselves, we can slowly start to love ourselves a little more.
